Hi my name is ○○ of Japanese crypto asset information site crypto coin portal.
Please let me interview in my poor English.
Even in Japan, the topic of the dragon chain is exciting and I would like to write an article, but would you mind asking me some questions?
In Japan it seems to be interested in the relationship between Dragon Chain and Disney.
Please let me know as you can.
If you have strong relationships, please tell me if you have a project that is going to be done with Disney and the Dragon Chain now.
Although it is talking about in Japan, how is your reaction on your project in the USA?
I appreciate your cooperation in advance.
Your English is in fact very good, thank you.
Thank you for the opportunity to answer your questions.
Regarding the relationship between Dragonchain and Disney…
Dragonchain was originally developed at Disney’s Seattle office in 2015 and 2016 as the Disney Private Blockchain Platform.
I was the leader of that team as a full time Disney employee.
The platform was officially released by Disney as open source software under the Apache 2 license in October of 2016.
It is currently listed on the official Disney Open Source site (https://disney.github.io/) as a featured project (see below graphic).
The Dragonchain Foundation was created in 2017 as an independent entity to hold the IP and code repository per open source process approval from Disney.
Regarding relationship and use of the project…
Over 20 use cases and applications were explored during my time at Disney and documented publicly via the W3C Blockchain Community Group (https://dragonchain.github.io/blockchain-use-cases).
I am no longer a Disney employee, and cannot speak about Disney’s current and ongoing use of the project.
Regarding the reaction in the USA…
So far, we have had great feedback from members of the cryptocurrency and blockchain community – from both business and technical angles.
There is certainly a lot of early excitement though we have not yet begun the marketing process.
Let me know if you or any of your community have any more questions, including technical ones.
